NEW VIDEO: DRIVING TOWARDS JUSTICE! JOIN US FOR STATE HOUSE DAY OF ACTION ON 3/14!

We are making history in VT! . While other states scapegoat and criminalize immigrants, Vermont is moving to embrace our tireless migrant farmworkers as equal members of our community!
S-238 was introduced in the Vermont Senate to provide a path for a state issued ID for farm workers. Migrant Justice partnered with the Senate Agriculture Committee to create a path for a driver’s licenses to all VT residents who don't have access to Social Security Numbers. (More here)
Freedom of movement is a human right that right now Vermont's hard working farm workers do not have! S-238 is very important to migrant farmworkers, who currently can’t move freely and independently in VT and are forced to depend on others, including their employers, to meet their most basic needs to access food or health care. Thus, the bill also provides relief for employers of migrant workers, who will have employees that are independent, healthy, and able to identify themselves in VT should they need to.
Thanks to your help, the Senate Agriculture committee passed this bill unanimously on Friday 3/2.
But we are not done. The bill has a long way before becoming law, and we need you to make it happen!
