Cheese with Dignity on store shelves!

The Milk with Dignity Program is expanding, bringing a new product to market. Last fall, we announced a partnership between Migrant Justice and organic brand Vermont Way Foods to produce Cheese with Dignity. The cheese is now for sale and available on store shelves!
This exciting expansion of Milk with Dignity comes on the heels of our recent breakthrough in the campaign to bring Hannaford Supermarket into the Program. We recently shared the news that the National Contact Point for Responsible Business Conduct in the Netherlands advanced our human rights complaint against the corporation. The decision will result in a direct dialogue with Hannaford’s Netherlands-based parent company, mediated by the Dutch panel, a campaign first.
Even as Migrant Justice advances the work of holding multinational corporations accountable for the wellbeing of farmworkers in their supply chains, we are supporting the development of alternative food systems from the bottom up.

The partnership is a unique collaboration and the first to create a product bearing the Milk with Dignity logo. Vermont Way Foods is an organic brand supporting small-scale farmers to bring their products to market; it is owned by four non-profit food hubs: the Center for an Agricultural Economy, Food Connects, Green Mountain Farm-to-School, and the Intervale Center. Migrant Justice has worked alongside the food hubs for over a year to develop the cheese, sourced from a dairy farm newly-enrolled in the Milk with Dignity Program.
The initial, limited release brings Cheese with Dignity to over a dozen stores, coops, and farmstands across Vermont and New Hampshire. You can find the cheese at Brattleboro Food Coop (Brattleboro, VT), Pete's Stand (Walpole, NH), Sweetland Farm (Norwich, VT), Milkweed Farm (Westminster, VT), The Maple Station Market (Temple, NH), Vermont Country Deli (Brattleboro, VT), The Genny (Craftsbury, VT), Rail City Market (St. Albans, VT), Plainfield Coop (Plainfield, VT), Morrisville Coop (Morrisville, VT), Stowe Village Market (Stowe, VT), Commodities Natural Market (Stowe, VT), and Common Roots (South Burlington, VT).
Head to a retail location and support farmworker rights by buying a wedge of Cheese with Dignity!
