All three members of Vermont's congressional delegation now have written letters supporting the efforts of immigrant activist Danilo Lopez to avoid deportation and stay in the United States.The 23-year-old Lopez has been ordered to leave the country by July 5, nearly two years after a car in which he was a passenger was stopped for speeding by state police and he and his cousin were turned over to the U.S. Border Patrol.The men were among an estimated 1,500 migrant farmworkers who have been working on Vermont dairy farms but who are in the United States illegally.Since the speeding stop, Lopez became active in a successful bid to allow those farmworkers to get Vermont driver's licenses.
